Prevention

Project Turnabout has been providing prevention services as part of our mission and continuum of care for over twenty years.  For over the past five years, Project Turnabout’s prevention efforts were brought to an even more significant level with the addition of the Regional Prevention Center for Southwest Minnesota. The goal for our prevention efforts is to reduce substance abuse and related problems within our region of service and expanded to all of Minnesota.

Regional Prevention Coordinator for Southwest Minnesota

The state of MN has been divided into seven prevention regions to apply a regional approach to a statewide effort in the Prevention of Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Abuse (ATOD). In each of the seven prevention regions is a coordinator that works within their region with coalitions and communities in the prevention of ATOD. Project Turnabout is host to the Regional Prevention Coordinator of Region 5 for 27 Counties in Southwest Minnesota for the State of Minnesota. Project Turnabout was awarded this grant administered through the Department of Human Services-Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (DHS ADAD). The Regional Prevention Coordinator focuses on prevention, education, and forming of coalitions in the areas of Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drugs.

Our Mission: “The Regional Prevention Coordinator (RPC) seeks to build regional relationships, provide training and technical assistance and implement a cohesive statewide prevention effort to build stronger and safer communities.”
